DAVE & LYNNE JOHNSON

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Mexican Medical Ministries is an interdenominational non-profit organization, founded in 1962, dedicated to providing low- or no-cost health care to the people of Mexico in the Name of Jesus Christ. The redemptive work of God touches the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual condition of humankind, and our passion is to bring God's healing touch to the total person.

We believe part of the "Great Commission" is bringing Healing and Hope through medicine and the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. We consider it our call to assist others in ministering to the people of Mexico. We work with ministry sites, clinics and sister hospitals located throughout Mexico, primarily in Baja California. Our ministries include meeting the medical and spiritual needs of those with limited access to health care in developing communities, migrant camps, and isolated ranches. Our outreaches include community health education; health screenings; dental, medical and vision consultations; and surgical teams. We work alongside local churches in helping them to fulfill their ministry vision. Our goal is to share the Gospel with everyone who comes to see us for medical assistance. We have short- and long- term mission opportunities for medical as well as non-medical volunteers.

MISSIONARY BIO

Dave and Lynne have been were married since 1974. They have three grown children and eight grand-children. While living and working on their chicken ranch, west of Sutherlin, they were active in their church, prison ministry, and Dave served on agricultural boards in the northwest.

They host short term mission teams from all over the United States and Canada and use those teams to partner with the Mexican church to reach people for Christ. Short term teams may consist of youth groups, adults, construction personnel, and all types of medical people. Dave and Lynne also work with a team of local Mexican youth that are being trained to share Jesus with their own people and work in the local church. God has blessed them with some awesome partnerships with local churches and together they are impacting lives for God.

Dave and Lynne also manage a mobile dental unit, which is used to help people with their physical needs. The mobile until allows them to give people information for spiritual healing as well. God has also given Dave and Lynne some unique opportunities to build relationships with Mexican leaders. During the past several years they have been invited into grade schools to teach community health education and morals. The morals class allows them to present biblical principles and values, and often students and even teachers will ask questions, after the class, which allows our Mexican partners to share what God has done in their life.
